Emily Wonder, Harpist
Music has been a part of Emily’s life from a young age, and she believes there are few things more powerful than the ways in which music connects people. She began playing harp at age 12 shortly after attending a Celtic harp concert with her grandparents. She remembers being mesmerized by the unique sound of the instrument and feeling drawn to play.
A versatile player, Emily moves between classical, contemporary, sacred, and improvisational styles to offer a reflective space for listeners. She is classically trained, grounded in Celtic influences as well as the Salzedo method. While studying harp at Luther College, she served as principal harpist of the Luther College Symphony Orchestra for four years, also leading the Luther College Harp Ensemble. Emily is an experienced wedding harpist and has played at venues spanning from churches in the Midwest to waterfront resorts in Cancun, Mexico. She currently plays harp for the Middleton Community Orchestra and mentors young harpists through the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra.
